Philisiwe Mthimkulu

School: Inanda Seminary
Based: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

I am a community activist who is dedicated to volunteerism, goodwill & philanthropy, with a particular passion for helping all children achieve their potential. I have turned my passion into a career and have become an accomplished teacher. I relate well to my students, inside and outside of the classroom, and approach my teaching with creativity and energy. Despite the challenges of working in a boarding school, I maintain a keen interest in research and addressing socio-economic issues, particularly those that have a direct impact on children and youth development. My vision for education in South Africa is for schools to offer quality education to all students regardless of who they are. I have a holistic approach to community development, with a supportive education system playing a vital role in bringing about the change I wish to see in my community and the world. My superpower is my high-energy creativity which keeps my learners engaged.
