Ayanda Muziwandile Kubheka is an award-winning South African educator at Harpo Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal. He serves nationally as the career organiser for Rural 2 Rural Initiative. He also serves as both the contributor and presenter for Nongoma FM and Abaqulusi FM.
He is the Founder and Director of Amasobode Foundation, a South African organisation that promotes career development, educational support, and food security in rural communities. His initiative, the Cross Pollination Academy Saturday Classes, supports quality education and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and National Development Plan (NDP) 2030.
Kubheka holds a BEd in Life Orientation and English: Intersen from the University of Zululand, a BEd Honours in Educational Support Services from the University of Zululand (UNIZULU), and is currently pursuing a Master of Education focusing on the skills that shape grade 9 learners’ decision-making during subject selection. He has completed over 120 online professional development certificates.
His professional roles include:
SANTS WIL Assessor, SANTS Online Marker, SANTS Marketer, Reconciliation Moderator (Encome Museum), Stilwater Ambassador, ETDP SETA Assessor and Career Practitioner.
Kubheka is a mentor in Social Entrepreneurship, Life Orientation, and English, and has been recognised with multiple prestigious awards, including:
1. Number three in KwaZulu-Natal Excellence in Life Skills Teaching under the National Teaching Awards (NTA) – 2024
2. Second place in 2025 KZN Excellence in Life Skills Teaching Awards
