I am a 38-year-old educator who grew up in a large family in a township in KwaZulu-Natal. My journey into teaching was profoundly shaped by Mr D. Naidoo, a teacher who recognised my potential and encouraged me to pursue my purpose. Through his mentorship, I experienced firsthand the transformative power a dedicated teacher can have on a young person’s life.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that my role is to positively influence and shape young minds toward excellence. I chose this profession out of a genuine love for children and a desire to be a source of hope and encouragement, especially for those facing challenging circumstances that I understand deeply.
I am committed to building a community of change-agent teachers who serve as positive role models and guide learners in making informed decisions about their future, education, and values. Such a community is instrumental in promoting youth development and upliftment across KwaZulu-Natal.
My goal is for education to fulfil its true purpose as a solution to societal challenges. I envision an education system that produces self-sufficient graduates, individuals who can apply their skills and knowledge productively, regardless of employment status, by developing innovative strategies for personal and professional growth. Ultimately, I aspire to see education drive meaningful and lasting change within our communities.
My greatest strengths are my capacity for love and connection, and my unwavering belief in the unique potential within every individual.
