Amogelang Mokonyane is a 24 year old from a village called Dikebu in North West. I started schooling in Rantebeng Primary school, later went to Diratsagae Middle School and matriculated in Hendrick Makapan Secondary School. In 2016, I was accepted by the North West University to study Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET. I graduated in 2020 and later joined the teaching fraternity. My Life Science teacher, Mr Setshedi was my role model, I always imitated him, he made me fall in love with teaching. I teach to inspire, to nurture and develop future citizens, develop a civilized citizen who will compete globally. My goal is to make science fashionable, introduce laboratories in rural schools. I dream of an inclusive education system, that will cater for different needs, learning and cognitive styles of children. I now hold an Honours degree in Education and currently pursuing a Master of Education in Education Law. The study focuses on securing the safety of teachers in schools. I am also a graduate and an alumni of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) Education Change Makers programme (Cohort 2).
