School: Bonteheuwel High School
Based: Bonteheuwel, Western Cape

I’m a teacher at Bonteheuwel High School. Currently, I teach grade 8 English Home Language and grade 9 Life Orientation. I became a teacher because I’m passionate about empowered young people. I love teaching because I can equip young people with the tools to navigate through their communities. I am excited about the fact that as a teacher, I establish meaningful relationships with my learners that not only develops their academic capabilities, but also their character development as they mature.

My areas of interest in education include leadership in education, making resources equally available to all learners, and learning to appreciate the individuality of each learner and their contribution to society.

My vision for South African education is to encourage entrepreneurial skills, strong leadership, character education and sound decision-making skills. I’d say my superpower is – compassion.
