I teach because it’s my passion, and I would like to enrich the lives of the youth of South Africa not only in the classroom but in the real world. I became a teacher because my previous qualification brought me no joy or excitement, and now I wake up every day excited to be in the classroom.
I am really interested in the literacy aspect of education and ensuring that students understand the importance of reading and comprehension as the building blocks to successful learning. I envision a learning culture of inclusivity where we celebrate our diversity and don’t allow it to divide us, where learners can learn in their mother tongue, and education is ongoing for everyone.
