Carla Watson, an avid innovator, strategist and coach, Carla (she/her) thrives in collaborative spaces to drive sustainable change in education and youth development. She is a published writer, and entrepreneurial mindset facilitator and she is a founding member of Jakes Gerwel Fellowship, its former Acting CEO and serves as Head Programmes at the Jakes Gerwel Fellowship, which is focused on supporting and nurturing young people into high-impact school teachers. She holds a Masters in Leadership and Policy (on the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme). She was recognised by Mail & Guardian 2019 Top 200 South Africans for her contribution in Education and MG 2020 Most Powerful Women in South Africa.
