Nyambeni Nthambeleni

I became a teacher after working as a healthcare worker for several years. During that time, I learned the power of care, empathy, and connection. These have been qualities that naturally led me into education. I realised I wanted to make a long-term impact by shaping young minds, particularly in the Foundation Phase, where a child’s sense of self and potential is formed. Teaching allowed me to carry over my heart for service while stepping into a role that uplifts both individuals and communities.

My superpower is definitely kindness. I’ve seen how consistent kindness can transform people moreover how humility and empathy in both personal and professional relationships foster trust, collaboration, and real growth. I’m passionate about forming strong teacher communities because I know the power of shared wisdom, encouragement, and purpose.

Together, we lift each other, and our learners, higher! My educational goals are rooted in a learner-centered approach that prioritizes both academic excellence and emotional well-being. I also care deeply about community engagement and the impact of schools beyond the classroom. My dream for education in South Africa is to see every child, regardless of background, access quality education in a space where they feel seen, safe, and empowered. I envision schools that are not just institutions but beacons of hope. Places where children, teachers, and families grow together. Eventually, I would like to open a school of excellence in an impoverished community, where high-quality education and holistic support are accessible to every child. I believe excellence should not be reserved for the privileged but rather a right for all. That vision keeps me going and guides every step I take as an educator and leader.
