I grew up in a village and experienced how unequal education can be for those who cannot afford private education, especially those living in rural areas. I became a teacher because I wanted to help fill this gap that I saw in the education sector, and, if I could help it, there would be no learner left without a teacher.

I would like to see education become more inclusive, so I use inclusive language when I teach. I try to be outside my comfort zone to confront my own biases because I believe this leads to growth. I’d love to see teachers go back to being seen as productive members of society, which will improve the morale. I would like to one day see education be free for everyone, without compromising its quality.
