I love Science, and I enjoy breaking down complex topics to make them easier for learners to understand. My passion for teaching is rooted in building learners’ confidence and creating opportunities for them through education. My teaching journey began while pursuing my BSc, where I worked as a Biochemistry tutor. That experience sparked my love for teaching and inspired me to become the kind of teacher I always wished I had — one who is supportive, dedicated, and committed to learners’ growth.

I am passionate about creating communities of teachers, as I believe collaboration is key to building a positive and thriving learning environment. Such communities not only promote professional development but also support teacher well-being, which in turn strengthens relationships between teachers and learners. A united teaching community can transform classrooms into spaces where both learners and educators flourish.

My goal in education is to cultivate a culture of self-leadership among learners and teachers. I want to inspire young teachers to lead initiatives that empower learners to achieve academic success and prepare them for life beyond the classroom. By equipping both learners and educators with leadership skills, we can build a stronger, more resilient education system.

Looking to the future, my vision for education in South Africa is the implementation of a curriculum that balances academics with hands-on, practical skills. This curriculum should allow learners the flexibility to pursue their interests while also aligning with the skills needed to strengthen our economy.

My superpower lies in building strong rapport with both learners and teachers. This ability creates a safe and engaging classroom environment where learners feel free to participate and where teachers can collaborate with me on initiatives that advance learners’ lives for the better.
