Join a conversation about teachers, with teachers. Listen to and share knowledge and experiences; lessons learnt; decisions faced; challenges both won and lost. Together we can build a constructive dialogue about the teaching profession in South Africa.
Here’s how we can engage…
The Teachers CAN Exchange is an annual conference that brings the education ecosystem closer together in a generative community that amplifies the voices of young teachers. This event takes places at the fringes of World Teachers’ Day and provides a platform for young, motivated teachers to present to various organisations within the education ecosystem many valuable, agile and innovative insights and solutions to some of the systemic challenges that we face in education as a nation. Have a look out on our social media platforms for how you can be a part of the Teachers CAN Exchange.

The Teachers CAN Connect Zones are physical spaces where young teachers and their allies meet to manifest their identity as change agents with a community of like-minded individuals. The community is guided by the Teachers CAN vision, for young teachers to be seen as vital role players in influencing the education ecosystem, and the Teachers CAN manifesto. The Connect Zone gatherings help the community make meaning of the manifesto based on their context, and serve as an activation space where they work together towards making each value come alive in their respective schools.

The Teachers CAN Online Connects are monthly 2-hour online engagements that are also open to the general public where young teachers and their allies come together to unpack an issue they are grappling within their practice. Participants are able to collaborate and problem solve on the matter in a generative community. Topics of the Online Connects are rooted in the everyday experiences of teachers and the focus is on finding solutions together in community.
